Hello Internet world. I hope you're well. I have the luxury of working from home on most Thursdays and Fridays which, until Chris started his job, afforded us some four day weekends to spend together. Determined to make the most of it we filled our first one full of activities and well planned relaxation (as I'm not very good at any other kind). A big grocery trip, some wonderful visits with friends and a lot of couch lounging, as by this point we had internet, peppered our weekend. Then Chris had the great idea to climb Arthur's Seat, which is the large remnants of a volcano where King Arthur himself is rumoured to have gone to sit and think on those philosophical medieval days. "Let's climb it" he said. "It will be fun" he said. And it really was! Up until the point where the end of our journey coincided with a bout of laryngitis for me that has stuck around like the small bit of mould in our shower that no amount of bleach can remove. But at the time it really was fun and it's something I'd definitely recommend to anyone visiting this majestic city. Just wear a hat. Seriously. Even if it's sunny. Wear a hat. The next day was my choice of activity, which unsurprisingly involved a really long walk and a really large slice of cake. So down to Leith we went where Chris was defeated by a caramel banana slice while I made friends with a chocolate Oreo cake that I will fondly think of when begrudgingly eating kale. Until next weekend.
