In August something happens to this city we call home,
It makes it rather tricky to find yourself alone. You see we have a festival, it calls itself the Fringe, While others really love it, some can’t help but cringe. It’s great you see there’s lots to do, the city comes alive, But then 500 000 folk are starting to arrive. There’s people in the streets and people in the stores, There’s people up upon the walls and people on the floors. Good luck if you would like to try and walk right down the street, Because you’ll need all day to get past all the folk you’ll meet. Despite all this and all the crowds it’s really rather fun, And lots of kin can’t help but smile despite the lack of sun. There’s comedy and music, lots of dance and theatre too, With outdoor pubs and outdoor grub, there’s endless things to do. So though I’m glad it’s at a close, I did enjoy the sights, But please next time let’s all agree to walk along the right.
